Run - Bike With Mike

Jimmy Buffett once said “Go fast enough to get there, but slow enough to see”.  The Team at Lowcountry Vacations would like to invite you to join Mike for a run on the Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island Monday evenings.   No one gets left behind in this no drop running group with plenty of stops as we uncover iconic landmarks and historic neighborhoods.  Running sightseeing, sightrunning or sightjogging is the best way to visit many of the sights that make Sullivan’s and the Isle of Palms two of the most historic and important islands in the United States.

Did you know…..

In 1674 a signal cannon was stationed on the island to warn the first settlers of Charleston a ship was coming.

During the 1700’s Sullivan’s Island served as the entry point for forty percent of all enslaved Africans brought to America.

In 1776, Colonel Moultrie defeated the British Navy at Fort Sullivan, one of the first victories for America in the Revolutionary War.

In 1827, Edgar Allan Poe was a solider at Fort Moultrie where he was inspired to write “The Gold Bug”.

During your run with Mike we will visit these sights and more.  It is the ideal way to get a local introduction to the Lowcountry while making new friends.

Thursday evenings, Mike will host a group bike hitting the same local sights.

Keep up with Mike throughout the year as he runs across the Lowcountry on Instagram:  runningchaswithmike.
