Welcome to Crow’s Nest at Shipwatch, a beautifully renovated three-bedroom oceanfront penthouse located in the highly sought-after Shipwatch Villas community in Wild Dunes on the Isle of Palms.

Perched above the Atlantic Ocean, this spacious penthouse offers sweeping coastal views, multiple private decks, and the relaxed elegance of the Lowcountry. From the moment you step inside, the ocean becomes the centerpiece. Expansive windows fill the living space with natural light while framing endless views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean beyond.

The open living area features updated tile flooring, fresh coastal finishes, and comfortable seating that flows naturally to the oceanfront deck, where guests often begin their mornings watching the sunrise with coffee in hand or end their day with the soothing sound of waves rolling onto the shore.

The updated kitchen includes modern appliances and thoughtful touches for gathering after a day on the beach. The living area features a large smart television, while each bedroom also includes its own smart TV for relaxing evenings after a full day in the sun.

The Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company will provide your family two classic wooden beach chairs and an umbrellawhen you stay seven nights (March–October).

These are set up on the beach each morning for your family and removed each evening by the crew at the Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company.

Local Recommendations & Island Insights

Having spent more than 30 years on the Isle of Palms, I’m always happy to share recommendations for restaurants, surf spots, running routes, playgrounds, fishing guides, boat tours, and local activities that can make your stay even more memorable.

About a week before your arrival, I’ll also send a list of special events happening in Charleston during your stay, along with a few personal favorites around the island.

If anyone in your group enjoys running, I also host a weekly group run on Sullivan’s Island, typically on Thursday evenings starting near Breach Inlet. We adjust the timing based on weather and daylight, but guests are always welcome to join.

Sullivan’s Island is one of the most historic barrier islands in the United States, and during the run I like to share fun stories about the island’s landmarks, historic homes, and local characters while tailoring the run to the group’s pace and goals.

It’s a relaxed and fun way to explore one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the Lowcountry.

Things to Note

Wild Dunes does not have a central resort pool for all visitors. Most neighborhoods and villa communities have their own private pool for guests staying in that specific area.

The pools at the Hyatt Boardwalk Inn, Sweetgrass Inn, and the Sweetgrass Fitness Center are reserved exclusively for Hyatt hotel guests and are not available to vacation rental guests.

The Wild Dunes Community Association maintains a strict no-pet policy for non-residents. Pets are not allowed within the gates of the community.
